New General Manager for Hotel Mestari

Inari Lehtinen has started as a General Manager of Hotel Mestari on the 13th of November 2023.
Primehotels has gained strong know-how and real passion for the industry with Inari as a new addition to Mestari’s team.
Inari has over thirty years of experience working in the international hotel industry business. She has a lot of management experience from the most significant hotel chains within Helsinki area and as well as experience from opening new hotels and their concept work.

The story of Hotel Mestari, which opened in the heart of Helsinki’s city center a little over a year ago, will now continue in Inari’s innovative and professional hands. A successful customer experience and providing unique hotel experiences to our guests will continue to be the most important  cornerstones of Hotel Mestari’s operations.

The legendary Master’s quarter comes to life through it’s great opportunities to combine business with relaxation, atmospheric restaurant and the After Work event that happens every first Thursday of the month. The hotels transformable and casually stylish spaces can be used from the management teams tough business negotiations to the festive company events and whole-house business parties – accompanied by the latest modern technical solutions.

New General Manager has been appointed to Spahotel Casino

Niina Pulkkinen has been appointed as a General Manager of Spahotel Casino starting from the 13th of November 2023.
She is transferring to her new role as a General Manager from her previous position at Spahotel Casino as a successful operational manager.
Prior to her one year long Operations Manager position she has worked at Spahotel Casino in various manager-level positions as well as in other hotel an restaurant operations within the area of Savonlinna.

Pulkkinen combines locality and strong market knowledge of the Savo region. This enables Spahotel Casino to offer even more appealing services to both the Savonlinna area tourists and the locals.

With the lead of Niina preparations are already underway for the coming summer’s opera season at the same time as the preparations for Christmas parties, themed brunches and Christmas-time vacations are going full steam ahead in the winter wonderland at Savonlinna.

Acting General Manager to pilot Hotel Rantapuisto

Essi Pennanen has been announced as the acting General Manager of Hotel Rantapuisto starting from the 13th of November 2023.Essi brings her strong know-how to Rantapuisto’s operational activities as an General Manager. Essi is still continuing in her role as Director of Commercial and Sales at Primehotels in addition to her new role in Rantapuisto.

At Hotel Rantapuisto the architecture of the 60s and the Finnish design in an enchanting seaside views together offer versatile options for organizing events of all kinds. Family parties, from seaside weddings to birthdays in a private Kellariravintola space as well as corporate events from well-being days of the employees to meetings and gatherings of up to three hundred people in our auditorium – are Rantapuisto at it’s best.

This gem of Eastern is also known for it’s weekend brunches, restaurant Furu’s sophisticated Finnish flavors and the completely renovated sauna located at the beach-side, which our accommodating guests can enjoy during the weekends. Last summer’s novelty is the hotel’s own beehive that provides delicious honey for our guests at our breakfast. As responsibility and the surrounding nature are an important part of Rantapuisto’s DNA, we dare to expect new winds in the coming year, both for the plates of our meeting guests and for the enjoyment of tourists enjoying a summer day by the sea.

Food and Beverage Manager for Hotel Katajanokka

 

Noora Rämä has been designated as Hotel Katajanokka’s Food and Beverage Manager starting from 4th of November 2023.

Prior to her new role she has worked as the restaurant manager of Linnankellari in Katajanokka. In the future with her new position she will be responsible for the operation of the entire restaurant hall and kitchen. As a strong professional in the restaurant industry, Noora is a master of customer encounters and with her cheerful attitude ensures the success of our guests personal celebrations as well as the events of our corporate customers.

The history of Katajanokka’s old prison can be seen in the atmospheric milieu of the basement restaurant and also in the dishes of the à la carte menu. The bravest can even enjoy an intimate dinner in the former solitary confinement cell.

Primehotels is strengthening its operations and adapting its strategy to on-going post-corona market situation. The strategy renewal and new direction pursued is a natural moment for a change in the company’s management as well.

Addition to that, Tomi Peitsalo is leaving his duties as the company’s CEO and board member, after more than six years. The CEO’s duties will be handled by the company’s founder, Eero Nuutinen starting from 1st November 2023.

After the corona pandemic started during spring 2020 and the war in Ukraine afterwards have these crises together had an extensive effect on the profitability and growth opportunities for the entire accommodation and restaurant industry. The impacts have also been clearly seen in the hotel market of Helsinki, which has changed significantly and still has not recovered to the level before the crisis.

Primehotels is strengthening its operations and adapting its strategy to existing market situation. As part of implementing its new strategy, Primehotels has concluded a business deal, with which Hotel AX will become part of the Strawberry companies. In this context, all employees of Hotel AX will be transferred to be part of Strawberry’s personnel. Hotel AX, that has been designed in cooperation with Finnish contemporary artists, opened in May 2022. From the beginning this hotel has been a valued addition to Helsinki’s hotel offering and an important part of the development of the new and vibrant Jätkäsaari area. Regarding this, Hotel AX was recently rewarded as Finland’s Leading Design Hotel in the World Travel Awards.

Positive business development has been particularly seen in the events and leisure segments. Also, individual travel experiences with unique hotel concepts have become a trend which are expected to last. In addition to the recognition received by Hotel AX, also Hotel Sveitsi has been awarded as the Finland’s Leading Resort, for the fourth time already, in the World Travel Awards.

In the future, Primehotels will particularly invest in customer experience and strengthening the business operations and profitability of its unique hotel portfolio in Helsinki, Hyvinkää, Savonlinna and Varkaus.

As part of implementing its new strategy, Primehotels has withdrawn from the Grand Hansa Hotel Hyatt project. The project started in 2019, when Primehotels was chosen for hotel operator by the property owner. The contract has now been terminated by mutual agreement between the parties.

In line with this strategy, Primehotels is focusing on organic growth and profitable business in terms of current market situation, through its portfolio of unique hotels in Helsinki, Hyvinkää, Savonlinna and Varkaus.
